And today's drawing is... a realistic portrait of Jade Chan!
I spent a good bit of time on this and I'm pretty happy with the results. There is one thing it's missing though. Maybe it's just the style itself, but I feel like she's lacking a bit of Jade personality. I guess those big eyes really define her as a character.
I'm planning on doing some more realistic portraits in the future, so this was good practice. Definitely need to work on hair.
Update (1/26/2012): I was looking through my gallery and I was grossed out by the proportions on this. The gap between her nose and mouth was way too big! I tweaked it a little with the liquify filter and it looks a bit better now. Amazing how your outlook on something can change so much in a month's time...
